Childrens health checks are opportunities for GPs and parents to monitor growth and development, milestones and provide immunisation against important communicable diseases. The GPs at Point Clare Medical Practice provide ‘blue-book’ checks and neonatal care. They also provide advice regarding the early stages of parenthood including breastfeeding assistance, sleep and settling strategies, infant growth, and advice about ‘fussy’ babies. The GPs can assess and treat common childhood illnesses, asthma, heart murmurs, ear infections, allergic disease, bed wetting, learning difficulties, developmental problems, as well as child and adolescent mental health problems.
